Monster Hunter World UX/UI Rework

For my senior capstone, I was tasked with a project to mock up SOMETHING within my vicinity as a college student better. I decided to take the prompt to the next level by redesigning Monster Hunter: World’s options menu to make it easier to understand for new players, with the other motive to make the whole options menu streamlined and tailored for the user’s experience, rather than jamming as many options into one menu as possible. I recreated the options menu from the actual game in Figma as a prototype. I have attached a video of it to the right.

My prototype in use is to the left. Within my research, I found that Monster Hunter’s menus desperately needed optimized. I worked on a design that made the home screen less cluttered, as well as making the options menu more manageable for newer users. Within this prototype, I made icons shown within each menu as well as implementing old aesthetics to the new display. I conducted user experience surveys to better understand what was needed to create a great experience for the consumer.
